Automatic Air Vents

Automatic Air Vents (or AAV’s) are used on systems to continually remove and/or eliminate air inside pipework without the need for manual adjustment. When liquid is pumped through a new heating or closed circuit system, the air that will have been present in the pipes will be trapped - this can form corrosion, reduce the thermal transfer, reduce the accuracy of control valves and cause noise. Automatic Air Vents allow the air to escape the system and the liquid to remain within the pipes using a float inside the device. The float closes once it is in contact with liquid shutting it off automatically preventing water loss and wastage from the system. 

 

The Flamco Flexvent Super model are compact devices, the proven design has high efficiency and guaranteed operation for these types of systems. A Flamco Flexvent should be fitted at places where the air would collect, they are simple and easy to include on any installation due to the small dimensions.

 

The range of AAV’s that we have available vary in connection size, maximum working temperature & pressure. Some models are also suitable for systems containing Glycol based anti-freeze up to certain percentages, so be sure to check which is most suited to your system.
