MainsBoost Water Performance Systems

With the ever increasing popularity of energy efficient direct on mains appliances, multi bathroom properties, and high volume showers, along with a growing UK population and aging infrastructure means that water supply to UK homes has come a major issue.

The water infrastructure across the UK has not been updated for years. The last new reservoir was built in 1976 and the pipe work is simply not large enough to carry the water required to meet the demand created by the massive number of new homes built since 1970. Water demand is simply outstripping supply, and as water utility companies are legally obliged to provide only 1Bar of pressure at the properties stop tap, it’s understandable why they are receiving so many customer complaints about poor water pressure!

Not long ago, one bath a week was the norm, but nowadays with the average person showering at least 4 times a week, the need for regular high quality water performance in the home is essential. It’s no surprise then that a lot of people now want to find out how to boost mains water pressure within the home, and that’s where Complete Pump Supplies can help.

Many homes today still have water storage tanks and hot water cylinders in the loft which are inefficient and unhygienic, which is why upgrading to an unvented hot water cylinder or combination boiler is a sensible solution that helps you to reduce energy consumption yet still meet the demands of today’s modern lifestyle. However, the efficiency and performance of these products is totally reliant on the incoming water main supply. One solution to improve the situation is to install a boosting water system to increase water pressure and flow rates.

A cost effective, environmentally friendly, energy efficient and increasingly popular solution to this growing problem, for both residential and commercial applications, is the range of Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance Systems which deliver the kind of performance customers expect when taking a shower or running a bath!

The Stuart Turner Mains Booster Pump harnesses the power of natural energy to improve and boost water performance throughout the property by utilising 'green energy' solutions. This has the added benefit of reducing residential and commercial energy costs and helping users become carbon neutral.

The Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance System is WRAS approved and water regulation compliant.

"Why do I need a Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance System?"

  • You suffer from poor water pressure particularly at peak water demand times which effects the shower flow.
  • You are fed up of getting into the shower and it turns to a dribble when someone flushes a toilet or turns on a tap.
  • You want improved performance from your combination boiler or unvented cylinder
  • You want real 'power shower performance' without the need for electric pumps.

If the property has good water pressure (above 2Bar) but poor flow rates or if the house has more than one bathroom then the property would benefit from installing a Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance System. This will stabilise water pressure and increase water quality flow rates to combination boilers and unvented cylinders so they work at their optimum performance, allowing the property owner to enjoy the benefits of having multiple taps and showers open at the same time whilst maintaining pressure and flow to all outlets.

If poor water pressure and flow rates are sending you crazy then this is the solution.

"How does the MainsBoost work?"

The WRAS approved Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance System overcomes the problems of low water pressure and flow rates by utilising patented accumulator technology to store a volume of water at pressure in a sealed hygienic container.

The Stuart Turner MainsBoost is easy to install because it connects directly to the mains water supply and under mains pressure fills with water. The CAD2 water chamber is surrounded by a positive pre–charged air pressure sealed within the vessel. When the chamber is full the unit reaches a state of pressure equilibrium, i.e. the water pressure and pre-charge pressure are balanced. The Stuart Turner MainsBoost system now has a volume of water “locked and loaded” at pressure, ready for distribution throughout the property. As an outlet is opened water is forced out of the Stuart Turner MainsBoost boosting the incoming mains water supply and delivering a constant water flow rate to unvented cylinders, combination boilers etc allowing them to operate at their optimum performance. Result; Power shower performance using green energy solutions!

For ease of installation, all Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance Systems are supplied with a comprehensive installation pack, including a detailed installation manual. Stuart Turner MainsBoost systems require no power supply or drainage, are silent in operation and are relatively maintenance free.

The Charger MJ1 has a very low noise rating of just 38dBa, whilst the Charger MJ3 pump as fitted to the Stuart Turner MainsBoost Plus is rated slightly higher at just 55dBA. In “real” money, that makes the MJ3 about as noisy as a standard washing machine or shower pump.

“Which Stuart Turner MainsBoost Unit do I need?”

If you have good water pressure but poor flow rates, or you live in a house with more than one bathroom, then the standard Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance System will be sufficient.

However, if your property has poor water pressure (below 2Bar) then you will require the Stuart Turner MainsBoost-plus or Stuart Turner MainsBoost Charger should be used.

The Stuart Turner Mainsboost system captures a volume of water at the highest static pressure available in any given period. If the water pressure from your incoming main never gets over 2Bar, then that is the maximum water pressure that the Stuart turner MainsBoost can capture, however it will boost flow rates within the property up to 80lpm (subject to pipe work configuration).

If you want to guarantee water pressure up to 3.5Bar, then consider installing the Stuart Turner MainsBoost Charger MJ1 or Stuart Turner MainsBoost Plus units.

Stuart Turner MainsBoost Water Performance Systems are available in a range of sizes from 55 – 248 litre capacity and can be used as a single system or linked together to provide improved water storage to meet household demands.
